Step 1: Gather the Supplies
In order to properly clean your shower head, you’ll need the below items:
- A large bowl or bucket that can fit the entire shower head
- White vinegar
- Dish soap
- A toothbrush or scrub brush
Step 2: Fill the Bowl/Bucket with Vinegar and Dish Soap
Once you’ve gathered all of your supplies, fill up your bowl/bucket with white vinegar. You’ll want enough vinegar to cover the entire shower head when you put it in the bowl/bucket. Next, add a few drops of dish soap into the mixture and stir it until it’s bubbly.
Step 3: Soak the Shower Head
Once your mixture is ready, submerge the entire shower head in the bowl/bucket. Let it soak for about an hour so that the vinegar has time to loosen any buildup that could be clogging up your shower head.
Step 4: Scrub Away Buildup
After soaking, grab your toothbrush or scrub brush and use it to scrub away any debris that has built up over time. Be sure to scrub gently as not to damage anything inside the shower head.
Step 5: Rinse Off Thoroughly
When you’re finished scrubbing, thoroughly rinse off the shower head with hot water until all of the vinegar has been removed. Then, turn on the shower and let it run for a few minutes to remove any leftover residue.
